So I kind of got the idea for this from Tumblr. I thought it'd be fun to see what people come up with here regarding Disney movies. For those not familiar with a headcannon, it's basically something you choose to believe about the characters or the story of a particular work that was never officially part of the story or something that happened to the character/s. They can range anywhere from the completely plausible to the completely insane. Here are some of mine to start:
Tangled: During the scene when Rapunzel and Eugene are camping in the forest and Eugene leaves to get firewood, he actually came back earlier than he had let on. He came back in time to hear the entire exchange between Gothel and Rapunzel, and knew that Rapunzel now had the crown with her. Rather than confronting Rapunzel with this knowledge as soon as Gothel left and having learned what he just had about her, he chose to pretend that he hadn't heard any of it and decided to keep his end of his deal with her and take her to see the lanterns. His surprise at her returning the crown to him in the boat later was partly because he hadn't expected to get it back from her until he had brought her home.
Aladdin: In the scene when Aladdin (disguised as Prince Ali) and Jasmine are sitting on the roof in China and Jasmine confronts Aladdin with his lie about who he actually is, she actually knows he's still lying. She just decides to pretend to go along with it because she's actually having a good time and she actually finds it flattering that he was so desperate to see her again that he would risk an immediate execution for it.
Also from the same scene in Aladdin: All of the events from the end of Mulan were taking place right below them. They weren't just there watching the fireworks. They were watching the war with the Hun army end and Mulan be forgiven by the Emperor for breaking the law.
Cinderella: After Cinderella and the Prince are married and have left for their honeymoon, the king and the Grand Duke have Lady Tremaine arrested on charges of criminal sabotage and conspiracy for deliberately tripping the footman with her cane and making him break the glass slipper. They also discover the conditions that she was forcing Cinderella to live in and the treatment she had subjected Cinderella to and add on a kidnapping charge. Lady Tremaine is stripped of her title and rank and sent to prison. The two step sisters are allowed to stay in the house, however since their life of luxury never trained them for being able to live on their own, they were both forced to start selling their stuff and get jobs in order to be able to eat.
So what are some of yours? (Also, please name the movie that your headcannon applies to. Some of us haven't seen every single Disney movie and some of us haven't seen many of them in a long time.)

This is quite interesting, where may I ask did you get this idea? If it were so, than another reason he wouldn't let on that he'd heard the exchange was to show her that Gothal was wrong by not abandoning her even before he got the crown back. Unfortunately that backfired with the whole ambush occurrence. She ended up seeing it for herself when she remembered being the lost princess. Honestly I don't believe I have any head canons of my own, not of Disney films anyway. It's been a while since I have watched a lot of them.

Honestly I don't believe I have any head canons of my own, not of Disney films anyway. It's been a while since I have watched a lot of them. You kind of made my point for me. He had at first planned on keeping his end of the deal and bringing her home first like he agreed to do and then he would get the crown back. It was already obvious from the movie that he hadn't planned on falling in love with her. It was also already obvious from the movie that he had every intention of coming back to her after he gave the crown to the Stabbington brothers like he said he would. Neither one of them had a reason to suspect that Gothel was about to derail everything. I prefer to think that Eugene had heard Gothel and Rapunzel arguing about it, because it also makes sense to me that while in the prison and being led to his execution when he realizes that Rapunzel is in a lot of danger, he had some other bit of evidence to go on that wasn't just a severely overprotective parent and a rare healing power. Remember from the movie that he doesn't ever meet Gothel face to face until after he escapes from the prison, therefore he really has no reason to believe that Gothel is actually obsessively insane. That there is the beauty of the headcannon. That it somehow makes sense to me, even if it doesn't make sense to anyone else.

I may adopt this head cannon, I really like this theory.

I have the same headcanon about Aladdin and Mulan!
early in Lilo and Stitch, Lilo is performing some kind of voodoo...curse thing to punish the other girls in her class. I like to think that Dr. Faciller from The Princess and the Frog wrote that book.

Just got around to reading this one of yours Jupiter: and it sounds an awful lot like the ending to Ever After, amazing film. Except that the daughter she was setting up with the prince was punished with her.

This may seem really weird (and not very crucial to the story)but I think it's a fun idea to play around with. Yzma seems completley oblivious to the fact that everybody finds her "unattractive and old". She on the other hand honestly believes she stunning. There's even line for it. "Once I trun back into my beautiful self."
I think something went wrong with one of her potions. (Krunk isn't great with labeling her poison bottles anyway) Somewhat similar to when Vanessa looked into the mirror and her reflection shows Ursuala. Instead when Yzma sees her relfection on glass or mirrors. She sees a gorgeous young woman. She may have even fallen for her own con. Now she really does believe in th mirage while in reality she's aging and not traditionally pretty.

This is a fascinating thought that should have been visited considering the coin flip it would be from the original script 'Kingdom of the Sun', where she was supposed to plot revenge on the sun for stealing her beauty.

I've always had a headcanon about Maleficent's origin. There's nothing coincendtal in the movie about it, but I've always thought that Maleficent was actually one of the good fairies and very close with Flora, Fauna and Merryweather but always felt like she never belonged. I don't like the idea of them having a backstory for her, negating my own theory probably XD

I've always kinda thought that the drop of the sun that fell to Earth in Tangled was connected in some way to the Greek god, Apollo. So the power that Rapunzel has is the power of the gods. So, the line in her healing song, about changing the Fates design, literally reweaves the Tapestry of Fate. I like to picture the three Fates from Hercules watching the Tapestry reweave itself every so often. At first they're really annoyed, but they eventually accept it. But they are pretty surprised when they try to cut Flynn's thread of life, and it doesn't cut or instantly rejoins itself

Now I'm gonna be picturing the fates myself every time I watch it! Flynn's line would sensibly rejoin itself, technically he did die for at least a minute. He even opens the film with "This is the story of how I died."

This may be strange and rather odd... But even as a child, I grew up thinking that Triton and Ursula (as Vanessa) dated back in their younger years. Before Ariel and her sisters were born. My theory is that Triton always loved her... But that Vanessa always wanted more. More power. More authority. She wanted peoples love and, so to speak, worship. It was then, I believe, that she began to dabble in black magic, Triton, all the while, begging her to stop. But the desire and such consumed her until she went mad. Spell went bad, and it turned her to Ursula the Sea Witch. Triton had no choice but to banish her and her family far away. From there stemmed Ursula's hatred to the royal family. She felt that Triton had betrayed her and her love. That's why she was always watching them. Spying. She knew Ariel was his favorite... So that is why she went after her... Odd, I know. But that's what I always assumed.
