Let's just face the reality of things...we are not going back to regular and, in my opinion and probably a few others, decent animation.
The animators, directors, and even the producers, find that the newer animation is "hipper" and above all else...cheaper.
But mark my words as there will always be some form of 2d animation even when we're our grandparents age.
And as far as movies go to get OT for a moment i think that Rapunzel will not be the last 2d animated movie by the Disney corporation.

No, I don't think so either. I believe that "Enchanted" proved to Disney that traditional animation still has a place in Disney.

As good as Enchanted was, I don't think we can read much into the future of 2-D from that film because so little of the film was in 2-D animation. A much better gauge will come when they release the upcoming movie with the princess and the frog since it will be completely in 2-D.

Disney's Newest Channel called "Dinsey Junior" has brought a show back that I was in love with as a little girl. It's The Little Mermaid! I never thought I'd see that again. Even though it's on at 6 am in the morning, I feel so happy they've brought it back to life. Thank you DVR!

Actual Disney programming on a channel actually bearing the Disney name?!? Revolutionary. And exciting. A friend of mine worked on that show.

OMG! Did they really? I don't know how Disney executives decide what old Disney shows they want to bring back. But I hope they consider doing other old shows somewhere along the way. The New Adeventures of Winnie the Pooh would be the perfect choice to put on this channel. It's all about innocence and fun. Which is ideal for he age bracket. And on a personal level, it would make me tickeled pink. Disney doesn't realize that by bringing back theese older shows. They'd be making more then one generation happy.
