Wookiees age very differently from humans. Chewie looks much the same as he did in Episode III which is approximately 20 years before A New Hope. Chewie is over 200 years old in the original movies.

Oh yes, Butters! I did hear about it. What a lovely story. I was saddened to hear he passed away just shortly after his screening, though.  I purchased my tickets for the premiere this past Friday. Super stoked! |
