I'm excited for the movie and I loved the first one but I don't think it will be able to match up that well. The whole Sharpay stealing Troy away from Gabriella thing seems like a dud for a storyline, though its no doubt going to be interesting. The dancing is supposed to be a lot better and they're keeping some of the well known characters/dancers besides the fab 6. I'm scared for the music though, What Time Is It is okay but nothing spectacular, but I hope the next movie proves me wrong.

I really enjoyed the first film. I think it's because Gabriella reminds me of my fiancee. But, I think the sequel has potential. I plan to see it. I'll record it on my mom's DVR. We don't get DC anymore. Stupid cable company!

I have a 9 year old addicted to anything High School Musical related. We have the movie, the ancore production, the sound track and the concert DVD.....she's got it bad.
She is counting down the days until it airs....I hope she is not disappointed.

Yeah I agree with you about the Dud storyline thing and on top of what you already mentioned; the fact that it takes place in a lounge/ beachy like vacation spot, it says From Justin to Kelly rip off to me. I am not really a huge fan of the first film however I did like Gabriella's solo Song "When There Was Me and You". Its a cute film and Troy and Gabriella are cute together but it did not fly with me like say The Thirteenth Year did. So I may see this film just to know what it is and have stuff to say about it when this thread is moved to the Theater section.

I love love love HSM...saw it the first night it aired on DC because I LOVED the music in the commercials Disney was playing. Been hooked ever since. Been in the theatrical production of it, seen the shows at Walt Disney World, saw the cast at the Disney Christmas Parade taping...I just love it. Can't wait to see the second one (and the third)...I'm already loving the new music from the second

Its so weird there were hardly anyone I knew that watched it on the premier. I did and I liked it and I thought, and still do, that it was probably one of the best Disney Channel movies made lately. I asked some of my other friends if they'd seen it and they'd all shrugged it off then two months later everyone was playing the music and talking about it. As big as a hit it is, it took awhile, not too long, but awhile to get it hooked. Did anyone hear that Zac and Vanessa are dating? Wonder there's going to be a bit of a different attitude between the two on stage.

I watched it when it premiered. I kind of promised my kid cousin I would and she is now obsessed with it. She even has this little dance game thing that we got her for Christmas last year of HSM. haha I did not hear I guessed!

Yea its obvious looking at the two...lol. But they are officially dating. I imagine it helps out a lot with the chemistry of their characters, to be dating in real life. I think they were crushing with HSM1 filmed, which made THAT part of the relationship of Troy and Gabriella seem so real.
