I guess the reason it hasn't become so popular is because it can be tire-some. A lot of people just want to relax while watching a film. This seat doesn't exactly offer that type of luxury. Hehe!

If I relax, I want to go to sleep. I like to be all up into the movie I'm watching!!!!! I sit cross-legged, I jump up and yell at the TV... I'm just crazy!!!!!!!!! LOL

Arielle-Do you have any Movie Theatres near you that are called Emagine?
That's where I go. They're considered the most up-dated Cinema in my area.
I suppose you can't relax in a movie like thiscregardless of it's format. Perhaps for the first half of the film. Second half is sure to wake up anybody. Forget the roar of the T-Rex. It's the Raptors and their high pitch scareaming that will make you go deaf.

No ma'am, I don't. In our small town, we have a theatre in which I really try to support. It is older and holds 3 movies at a time. Gotta support the small town businesses' though.

I enjoyed them. Growing up I was really fascinated with the idea of dinosaurs still am. However, I'm not going to be going to re-see it in theaters since I don't really wanna waste the money when I already own it on DVD and VHS. ^^
The first film was by far the best though. The second and third were just alright by my standards.

So I finally had the chance to catch this in theaters on Saturday. The 3-D was surprisingly good for an after the fact conversion. Mostly it was just fun to experience this in theaters again, especially hearing John Williams' majestic score.

It sounds like my brother is going that route, albeit for the 3-D blu-ray instead.

I have yet to endulge in the world of blu ray. I know I need too, but haven't broken down.
I'm technology dumb. So what, may I ask, is the difference? Between Blu Ray and DVD?

The big difference is picture and sound quality. A blu-ray disc has 6 times the storage capacity of a DVD, so the picture quality and sound is a lot better. If you've ever switched channels between regular and HD, that's the difference we're talking about. Blu-ray discs are in HD. DVDs are in standard definition. Since most blu-ray players upconvert your standard DVD to near HD quality, the difference may not be as apparent.

Hmmm... This may be worth a look. Atleast before they convert and I'll be forced to do so. Lol

The good news is that blu-ray players play regular DVDs just fine, so you will not have to convert your entire library to blu-ray and can continue to purchase a DVD if it suits you. For instance, I was able to save around $60 by purchasing all 3 seasons of the original Star Trek on DVD instead of blu-ray. I would have preferred blu-ray, but the price worked.

So after spending much of my weekend watching the blu-ray bonus features for all 3 Jurassic Park films, the audio commentary on JPIII and watching The Lost World itself, I decided to re-read Jurassic Park.
I haven't read the book since 1993. I read it just a week before the movie was released. In re-reading the book, I can't believe how many changes they made. There were some incredibly intense sequences cut from the book. The original T-Rex encounter was very different.
In no way do these changes diminish how much I love the film. But at the same time, I wonder what a more "faithful" adaptation would have looked like.
