Interesting, I'd taken so long to join this thread because I was behind a season and wanted to avoid spoilers but the third season hasn't even been discussed nor the upcoming season. I'd just recently finished the third season on Netflix and must dub it the best yet. I found the dark angle of Peter Pan to be one of the best written and developed arcs done so far. The fact that he's an adult who regained his childhood rather than a boy who wanted to keep it was really clever. Has anyone been reading about the Frozen arc they are doing in the 4th season? insidetv.ew.com/2014/09/09/once-upon-time-season4-trailer/www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/once-a-time-season-4-733220

Spoiler tag following because I've got something to say about season 3 as well. {Spoiler}Okay, so season 3: I loved it. I loved that they made Peter Pan Rumple's father and that he was acting purely out of selfishness and greed. It presented the dichotomy that in the end, Rumple didn't have to choose to give in to his dark side just because his father did. And I loved them throwing in the Wicked Witch of the West too, and her acting purely out of a lust for power. And then Captain Hook's whole backstory. You may now call me a Captain Swan shipper thanks to that.
Season 4: so Elsa for some reason was imprisoned in an urn in Rumple's basement back in the Enchanted Forest. I really hope we're going to find out why. In the meantime, Kristoff and Anna are getting ready to get married, but their wedding is having to be put on hold because Anna is supposed to have learned something about why her parents were taking that trip that they died on. That something had to do with Elsa and her powers, and from everything I'm learning Anna might or might not be picking up where her parents left off. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Agreed that Peter Pan being Rumple's father presented him with a very interesting crossroad and basically summed up himself as a father. The Wicked Witch of the West was an interesting idea but I felt that to make her Regina's half sister wasn't entirely believable. It was a bit awkwardly squeezed in and Oz was underdeveloped. Dorothy's role was pretty meaningless but I did like that Glenda had tried to show her the light and that her green skin had come from jealousy. The coupling that got my attention was Regina and Robin Hood. I thought they had good chemistry and am upset that that is being challenged and so soon into the relationship by the return of his wife Maid Marian. Emma was stupid to save her in the past especially after she'd nearly erased her own existence in the process!
As for the upcoming Frozen arc, thank you for that information Jupiter I hadn't read those bits. Interesting that they are revealing the circumstances under which the parents had taken that trip which killed them as I was recently discussing with someone on Youtube how the lack of development there left the event kind of meaningless.
Personally I am not understanding how Elsa's powers are still seemingly still so out of control (see the trailer in my previous post) if she's coming to storybrook from a moment that is post-film. Or so the article I posted made it sound. I'd initially assumed that she'd come from a point when she'd fled Arendelle and created her ice palace and yeah I'd like to know how she'd ended up trapped in an urn.

{Spoiler}Yeah, the whole thing is supposed to happen post-movie. And while Elsa might have a much better grip on her powers than she did, it just wouldn't make any sense that she would have total control over them by that point. It's still too soon for her to be so well-practiced at it by then. And suddenly finding herself in an unfamiliar place would really be a test of her self-control.

Right I wasn't saying that she'd have perfect control but that she wouldn't freeze everything she touches anymore.

Okay, so we're now two episodes into season four. Am I the only one watching as it airs?

I'm watching it as it airs and I have to say I'm enjoying the season so far. I'm really excited about the 'real' snow queen. I just hope they toss in some Gerda and Kai though.

Love Anna and Elsa on the show. I actually like them as much as I did in the original (which is amazing, since I have heard MANY people say that the actress of Anna looks like your average cosplayer)

So my roommate and I had this thing where we could only watch an episode if we watched it together to prevent us (aka me) from watching a season a day. Well in the last few months that's been goin reallll slow and we hadn't caught up since middle of season two. Over Christmas break I reaaaaallllllyyyy wanted to find out some things and now I'm on like season 3 episode 7 or something hahaha. Mostly I just have this HUGE Peter Pan / Hook fetish that has gotten a little out of control (I'm working on it) and I was superr curious about their backstories. I'm pretty sure the "Good Form" episode is my favorite yet. Oh my goodness. Not sure how I feel about the love triangle but oh well. I'm kind of pleased with how they spun the Peter Pan characters so Hook isn't the real villain. I'm loving the actor who portrays Peter Pan so well, and I read somewhere that described him as the character they love to hate. So true! I've seen some things about how season 4 or something is completely F R O Z E N (not surprised granted the whole world has fallen for it) but I'm just slightly worried/skeptical that it'll stray from the main story line. We shall see! I hate that I love this show so much haha.

When you get around to watching season 4, just think of the entire Frozen arc as expensive fan fiction. It doesn't actually stray from the movie, but rather adds something else to it. Unfortunately that something else is what kind of strays from the original movie.

Alright, so I'm halfway through season six of what they've aired so far. I must say, the later seasons aren't as great as the first few. It feels a little repetitive now, they're doing the same things just with different characters. I do however like something that will be in the spoiler tag: I really enjoy that ten billion characters aren't being introduced. I tend to get upset when they drop characters out of nowhere in favor of new characters. I really enjoyed the Underworld arc where they brought so many characters back! And in this season where they revisited Cinderella's story
