Pride-Is there a marathon coming up? If it starts from teh beginning then I shall. Not that I know of And I agree with Merida Brave and Kerbobbled. I like season one better because I was more excited to watch newer episodes to see what they would reveal next, but season 2 is still worth watching in my opinion.

Season 1 seemed to introduce a new character and their backstory every week with a little bit revealed about the overall story arc while season 2 is focusing more on the overall story arc with some new characters introduced. I'm the opposite of Pride as I'm enjoying season 2 more.

I'm watching the first season on tv since NZ is playing them until the second season. I love all the characters on this and it's so cleverly written.

Bumping I'm a major Oncer now, I can't get enough of it! The cast and currently shooting season three, so I've been trying to keep up with the updates. Such as: TINKERBELL AND ARIEL ARE COMING!! Also, Sidney/Genie/Magic Mirror is returning I really enjoyed the second season! I miss a ton of the old characters, though. Like Cinderella, The Blind Witch, Mad Hatter, Nova etc. But this show is so well-written and executed impeccably! I just love it!

I've honestly never seen this show. Everyone says it is great... But I have never given it a chance and I don't like to start a show when I haven't seen the beginning.

Watch it Arielle. The Pilot episode is great, a really good introduction to the series.

If I get at least four people who can explain to me in detail why I need to purchase season 1 on DVD. I will do so. Better be convincing. DVD's for TV series are not cheap.
Naturally it would be easier if a marathon happened but it doesn't look like it will.

If I get at least four people who can explain to me in detail why I need to purchase season 1 on DVD. I will do so. Better be convincing. DVD's for TV series are not cheap. Naturally it would be easier if a marathon happened but it doesn't look like it will. I'll explain why I watched the show beginning with season one without giving away major character or plot spoilers. The series offers a fascinating new look at many classic stories. While I have my disagreements with some of the interpretations they've chosen, I still like seeing this story come together. Many of the new versions of fairy tale stories show strong influences from the Disney version. Just look at Belle's clothing when they told their version of Beauty and the Beast. At the same time, they take some radical departures from the Disney versions. But in the end, if you've read the original fairy tales and seen the Disney version, you will always find some major additions and changes to the Disney version. For me the fun and appeal of season one was seeing how the show's creators intertwined so many different classic stories and put them in a shared universe. To make a long story short, in a last ditch attempt to take her revenge on Snow White and Prince Charming, the Evil Queen casts a curse on the kingdom which banishes many prominent fairy tale characters into the tiny town of Storybrooke, Maine where time stands still and where they have no memories whatsoever of who they were in fairy tale land (known as the Enchanted Forest in the show). The Evil Queen is also banished to this town, but she retains her memories and is the mayor of Storybrooke. Her happily ever after is seeing all of her enemies live in misery. Happily married couples are either estranged or not even together in this new "reality." There is one hitch. The Evil Queen's adopted son has a book of fairy tales given to him by his elementary school teacher. The boy begins to believe that each character in his book is actually a person in the town. One day a mysterious visitor shows up in town who suspects that something isn't right. The visitor decides to stay and slowly the backstories of the citizens of Storybrooke are told via flashbacks to fairy tale land and seeing how they act in Storybrooke. That's my general synopsis of the story arc. What makes the story fun is seeing different takes on the classic stories and how all these characters are interconnected. In the animated Disney classics, Cinderella does not know Snow White or Belle. Maleficent does not know the Evil Queen. In Once Upon A Time, these stories take place in approximately the same timeline so Snow White is friends with Cinderella. Maleficent and the Evil Queen are colleagues who have suffered defeat at the hands of our heroes. When the show tells the story of Pinocchio, it starts from when Jiminy Cricket was younger and offers an interesting reason as to why he wanted to become a conscience.

I can't even pinpoint what I love so much about this show. For the first season, it's all about learning about the various tales and the show's take on the classics. It is very cleverly put together (granted, there are a couple plot holes, but compared to the intricate plots they have, they can be overlooked). I also like the fact that they face real life and fairytale problems simultaneously, so that you get the best of both worlds. Also, there is some fantastic acting in this show. As a fan of Disney, I'm sure that you'd be able to appreciate the heart in this show as well. I think that's what's kept me going. The strong characters and the classic 'Good vs. Evil' concept that is constantly visited in the show.
Eep. I hope that was good enough, lol.

Doube post.
If casting for this show were strictly based on appearence. Then an fan who dresed up as Elsa and posted it on social media would have it in the bag!
Anyody else seen the side by side comparison picture?

I'm trying to watch it on Netflix while I draw, but it's something I really need to pay attention too. So far, I like it, but I think I might have to start over from the beginning.
