Almost all the time XD But that's when they're in the next room. I address them by their own name when talking to them. Onw is Wairata and the other is Te Matetu. They're Maori names, like mine. But they have nicknames. When mixing them together, you get Lalajin, which is what we call out LOL

Pretty! Ahh, I see. So it's like calling one name but it's a combination of their names.

Yeah, pretty much. I'm not even sure how it came about really. It's just become a habit. We all have nicknames though. Mine's 'Boy' which is a fairly common name for the first boy of a family in NZ.

Honestly, I think it's got to do more with laziness XD I mean, I perceive a NZ accent as a lazy version of an Australian or British accent, lol

You should be thankful Just kidding! Lol. But I do cringe when I hear a bad NZ accent against American accents. Sometimes, even Australian. I do love Emilie de Raven's accent though. It's bearable, and a little exotic

I .. I don't know really. It sort of sounds like we weren't taught how to speak properly? It's not the British-y accent that I dislike, it's the way we say some words. Maybe you should listen to one so you know what I mean Ever heard of Flight of the Conchords?

I have. But I haven't seen/heard a lot of their work and what I have was a few years ago.

Oh, ok. Their accent is pretty much a typical NZ accent. Don't get me wrong, I love them and think they're hilarious, but even their tone is quite lazy. A little emotionless XD

interesting. I would have assumed it was because of their personalities that they talked like that, not their accents.

It could be, maybe. But it's mostly their accents. I'm trying to talk more pleasantly when around strangers, since friends and family know what I sound like, haha. I actually hate my voice though. Not the accent, the actual voice lol.
