Just this December they finally reopened it. Come to find out they made some major changes! The whole theming now is based on Tron. The track itself is almost exactly the same (except they got rid of the bump test and the hot and cold chambers). Before you get on the ride, you are given a SIM card and then proceed to design a car. You can design it to optimize responsiveness, power, capability, and efficiency as well as the look of the car down to the decals. The ride itself is the SIM car, but after you can compare your car to the SIM car to see how well you did. You can also race your car with other cars and the steering wheel knows your car components and responds accordingly. So if it has less power, it responds as such. You can also make a commercial for your car and send it to yourself and others. And then you can take pictures with yourself with Chevy cars.

I just missed this reopening by a month or so. Hopefully my next visit will be before another refurbishment so I can check it out as it sounds cool.
