Race To Witch Mountain

File this one in the "Terrible Ideas" category. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and his Game Plan director Andy Fickman reunite in what's being called an "action thriller" remake of the fondly-remembered 1975 Disney fantasy Escape to Witch Mountain. Johnson will play a Las Vegas cab driver who picks up two young siblings with paranormal powers, played by Bridge to Terabithia's AnnaSophia Robb and Alexander Ludwig (The Seeker: The Dark is Rising). Ciaran Hinds will co-star as the leader of a group set to hunt down the kids. Bedtime Stories writer Matt Lopez is credited with the screenplay, which is traced back to Alexander Key's 1968 novel. With production set to commence imminently, this film is scheduled to open on March 13, 2009.

Eh Im not sure if Im going to see this. I remember watching the orginal with my BFF along time ago and I thought it was kinda weird to be honeset. yeah.. Cute storyline but to weird for me.

I'm usually very supportive of the company. Even some of their biggest clunkers have made me still smile. But in this case, I'm going to have to agree with the majority of the group. "Another" remake isn't necassary. The original is already a cult classic and the 90's TV adaptation was moderatley successful. Why tackle your opponent again when you've already made the touchdown. (Excuse my frame of reference)

they were made in the 70's. I only know of them because my grandparents had them, and the books, which i never read.

this sounds more like a sequel than a remake to me, but it still doesn't appeal to me

i just saw the Trailer and i must admit it looks fantastic much better then the last version, it is going to come in March of this year. And i am greatful that the Rock has got a better film role then the last disney one he was in.

What was the last Disney movie he was in? Was it The Game Plan? Because I keep thinking that's the one. I admit this looks really good. And I heard The Rock was gonna host the Kids Choice Awards this year probably to promote his new movie.

Yh, thats it. he was in Cody in the House along with the girl who played Sophie (the President's Daughter and his Daughter in Game Plan) i understand why they took it off air.

I know remakes are usually not that great but I don't know this movie so I am unable have an opinion on the fact that this is a re-make as everyone else can. But now that I have seen some trailers, I am not much of an alien fan there are few rare exceptions including Stitch and E.T. But from the trailers this movie looks as though it could be interesting. None of my family or friends have seemed to show interest yet though so I may not get to see it. I am kind of neutral anyway, I can live without seeing it, but I wouldn't mind giving it a try at the same time.
