I think this film looks more promising then the original. (Wasn't the biggest fanof the first one) But at the same time it looks as though the same formula will be followed as the last film. But it seems like it's worth a glance. I'm hoping the action sequences and mystery will be better put together. I guess we'll seen pretty soon.

The formula has to be different, I think, because one of the biggest and riskest parts was stealing the Constitution and this time they have to many people on their side to have that or something similar be their biggest obsticle. It also goes into other countries, which should be interesting. I'm sorta looking at this as a Nancy Drew series and this being the second mystery that they solve.

one of the previews i saw made it seem like they aren't looking for treasure this time, but truth and to clear the name of Benjamins ancestor. He is supposed to have been part of the plot to kill Lincoln.

And they didn't want a Bates going down in History and being remember as an assisin to Lincoln. I'd forgotten about that part of the trailer.

Well according to what I recently learned in History class, the one I just took a test in; Lincoln's assination was the work of one man who hated his politics. But I guess for the sake of spicing up this movie they decided to put a main character's family in danger of being a part of it.
This movie did not really appeal to me at first thought and I am not sure it still does, I mean the idea seems interesting but as Silver stated its bascially the same forumla as the first film which I really enjoyed and own. I will definietly see it just to see what it is because it does have me curious.

Maybe it's just what I've seen in the trailer but the storyline does look pretty similar. There's a rare treasure that many people don't believe exists. Someone else is desperate to grab ahold of the treasure as well. The main characters are on the run from the authorities. And they'll have to follow clus and try to pass dangerous obstecles. I'm not trying to belittle the film but the sequel does seem to share a similar plot.

i agree it does have a similar plot, most action movies do or no one would watch them, the part of these ones that intrigue me is the historical facts woven into the fabric of the story, but i am a nerd and love history and historical fiction!

Booth was a failing actor and didn't like the goverment has you pointed out but the same night that Lincoln was assissinated, Seward, the Secretary of State, was attacked by the accomplise of Booth. The Vice President was also supposed to be assissinated but the guy Booth put in charge of killing him chickened out. There's more than one person to be involved in the guilt. Plus I think Gate is being charged with conspiring, which means a lot of things of what he actually did. Besides, even though Lincoln did end slavery and such, one can argue that he wasn't the best guy. He did suspend Habeus Corpus and everything, which while it was all for the good cause, people's morals differ if doing something unjust for a just reason is right or not.

It looks really good, I've seen the trailer and a poster for it at my local cinema. I loved the first one and there's no doubt that I'll really enjoy the second!

Only two days until it finally arrives. And I'm surprised by all the attention it's getting. The TV Guide Channel is even airing a one hour special later this week. This will definetley take the win for the blockbuster position. "I Am Legend" and "The Golden Compass" will have to make room. (hehe)
