Sounds like an enjoyable but a predicable storyline. I'm sure I'll check it out just for curisoity. But I'm still adement that this didn't need to be made.

I agree with Silver. Actually it sounds a lot like the last movie but in reverse. Instead of everyone saving Woody, he's saving them.

This looks entertaining but a bit repetitive just like the storyline mentioned. But who knows, I had enormous doubts about the 2nd and if it would have enough heart as the first. I thought it was clever and thoughtful but lacked the same charisma as the first. Maybe with the circumstances being what they are with the third it might be the most honest and clever of all. Sorry I don't mean to be so doubtful but I think the original was one of the finest to ever come from Disney. (Not only do mI think it's Pixar's best, I thought it ranked as high as BatB & MP) I just have such high expectations and because Toy Story didn't just put Pixar on the map. It brought in a whole new league of how filmmaking can bring innovative technique and psychological insight to the characters. So when I think of the franchise I think of all the wonders it brought to film. I'll try to think of it this way. Most people had doubts on "Up" when it came right after WALL-E. And although not as strong in story-content or technical vision as it's predecessor , I actually thought it was more enjoyable. Maybe the third Toy Story will do that for me. But I do have a question. Rumor has it that John Morris (who has played Andy) will reprise his role. Does anybody know if this is true? If it is, I think it's sweet he would return after all these years.

I have no clue, although I'm slightly weirded out that I'm in the same position as Andy at the moment. The trailer didn't reveal anything new to me, but it was nice to see everyone again. Even if it's not the best film Pixar's done, I think it'll be nice as a Toy Story movie (and still not be as bad as a Disney sequel).

Rumor has it that John Morris (who has played Andy) will reprise his role. Does anybody know if this is true? Apparently so. He's credited in numerous places as Andy once more, including IMDb Also a couple of things to notice about the trailer: 1) Mrs Potato Head only has 1 eye throughout the trailer - perhaps its got lost through the years? A sign of how little the toys have since been cared for. 2) Bo Peep is STILL missing, hopefully it'll be explained why she's missing. 3) The guy who's taken over from Jim Varney as Slinky sounds absolutely spot on and if I didn't know Varney had died, I'd think it to be the same guy.

Thanks for the info Elliot! The character of Andy is critical to the story but the role itself isn't too cloassical for an actor. So that must mean Andy meant more to John Morris then what I imagined.
While I'm sure the actor portraying Slinky will do the best he can, I can tell it's not the original voice. Something about it seems a little out of sorts. I'll miss Jim Varney very much, but I'll give this new actor the benefit of the doubt.

Just found out the, the guy who's now playing Slinky is Blake Clark who is a great actor himself, having starred in numerous Adam Sandler films, The Mask and Get Smart amongst a somewhat distinguised career anyway. I can understand what you mean Silver, his voice seems slightly deeper but the drawlr emains thankfully. After asking a group of 8 friends of mine what they thought of the trailer and Slinky as a whole, not one commented about it being a different person which bodes well

SpellWovenNight - I'm in the exact position you're in! It's weird that I'll be watching that movie the summer before I go off to college. I'll definitely be bringing some of my toys along with me though...
I'm so excited for this movie! The trailer looks great, although I do have one problem. That boy doesn't look like Andy...
I was thinking about why Bo Peep might be missing. She's not listed on IMDB either. I've come to the conclusion that Andy probably has thrown her out already. Either that, or Molly has her now. Bo Peep isn't a doll, she's a lamp. It doesn't sound normal for an eighteen year old boy to own a Bo Peep lamp.
I think the replacement for Jim Varney is fantastic! I'm so happy that they found a great replacement for him, although he will be missed.

One think to bare in mind on Bo Peep Joy, as I heard on the audio commentary for Toy Story is Bo Peep never was Andy's toy. Molly's cot was actually in Andy's room in the first film but not many people pickup on that and thats the reason she was in there. Another illusion that she's not Andy's is that in the first Toy Story she says something to Woody along the lines of "I'm just down the hall" or something along those lines meaning that Molly has a playroom or something of that sort where she's actually kept. Either way it does look like Bo's been got rid of sometime before this film which is a shame.

Oh, poor Woody. Just because she's Molly's toy and not Andy's doesn't mean they shouldn't have included her

That does make sense, I think Andy just took Bo Peep to be used as the damsel in distress. Either way, they've probably gotten rid of her years ago. It looks like Molly is a preteen now, judging from the picture shown in the trailer.

I have to say.. i find it interesting that they kept the people looking the same when I think they have developed people and can make them look better. But I am glad they kept the look the same.
I am excited for this movie. I don't think it will be as good as the first 2, but I think it will still be very good.

I don't remember where I read it now, but Pixar has confirmed that Bo Peep is in Toy Story 3.
