i agree. the 3D in UP was great. There were no moments in the film made just for 3D poppingness. If it was used that way, 3D might be ok. I think this story has been used to much though and unless Disney puts their own spin on it, its just gonna be another money grab:(

As unconfident as I feel about this movie, I'm giving it the bennefit of the doubt. Anybody in America going to check out the Christmas Carol train tour? When it comes to my state I'll definetley pay a visit. I hear it's like entering a mixure of an art and science museum. You can view the costumes, computer techniques, and even have virtual interaction. Sounds like a ball!

I'm intrigued by this film. I really like Dickens story and I think Jim Carrey could make a great Scrooge.

I'm very sorry you missed that Lorelei. If Jim Carrey applies the same sincerity and subtle behavior like he did in Eternal Sunshine he might indeed make a good choice Scrooge. Although I still wonder if he'll be able to pull off the character's cold demenor without being over-the-top or too comedic for greedy but tormented soul that is Scrooge. I also hear he has a lot a of trouble with accents. And understandably people from the U.K have a right to be critical if it comes across as too much of a Mid-Atlantic accent. Hopefully Mr.Carrey will prove me wrong but I'm just not sure at this point in time if he was the right actor cast for this role. (Or even the advising spirits)

I just went to the Christmas Carol on Train Tour. It was unbelievable! All of the speical effects and virtual wizardry is briliant. It's colorful, lively, creepy, and very much in the spirit of Charles Dickens classic. I can't say I'm confident this will be a great film but I feel more supportive of the creative team now. I'm actually starting to look forward to it.

I honestly not looking foward to this movie. I really don't care for the motion capture animation style plus the story has already been done a thousand times.

I just viewed the officail trailer of this film. I'm half excited, half concerned. I think the animation is beautiful enough for audiences to be spellbound but is Jim Carrey caple of carrying this beloved story as legendary Scrooge? (That and his accent isn't very good) If it wasn't for me visiting the Train Tour I'd probably pass.

While I haven't seen the trailer yet, I think I will see this film. I really love this story, and I think Jim Carrey can play Scrooge. He's a better actor than most give him credit for. Too many people see Ace Ventura, The Mask, or Batman Forever, but completely ignore The Truman Show. It may be a different take on the role, but I'm curious to see it.
