yes you are right. Other than that show though he has only guest starred occasionally in shows.

I'm not saying that he's too big to do TV but I just can't see him starring in a TV show at this time, I mean the other show was awhile ago.

i understood you  He doesn't seem like much of a TV actor, he has really even appeared as a guest on TV he seems to prefer the big screen...and i am content to idolize him there  but...i would watch a tv show if he would do one! |

Do you think Johnny Depp would do a TV show? Animated or not? It doesn't seem likely to me if they keep Depp. Probably not; unless I'm mistaken, he doesn't do Jack Sparrow's voice in video games either, so they could hire that actor to do Jack. |

If its animated they might be able to pull it off but if its not. . .the show will loose what it had going on in the first place, Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow.

Who cares about Will and Elizabeth?!!? Lol they aren't the only main characters. I'm personally extremely glad they're not going to be in anoter Pirates film. Like Kairi said, there's Calypso and obviously Jack, Barbossa, Raggeti, Pintel, Gibbs, Marty, Cotton, Cotton's parrot, etc,etc lol there's plenty more they could get out of it. GOODNESS GRACIOUS PEOPLE WHO DON'T WILL AND LIZZIE NEED TO COME BACK, I SAY THAT WITHOUT THEM WHO'D SAVE JACK FROM HIMSELF?  sorry, I'm a total Willabeth fangirl (and a will fangirl as well!) and just can't inmainge the 4th POTC without them, I mean yeah, koay if Keira leaves, no bg loss for me just so long as they replace her with a SUITABLE actress but NO ORLANDO or ANEW GUY PLAYING WILL?? I'd stay as far away from POTC 4 as I could in that case!!! That would wreck my head so bad I'd never be able to watch the first three without thinking of how the new guy they got for Will ruined the way Orlando portayed Will in the first three!! Oh and Will's NOT BORING, he just doesn't want to break with etiqutte!!! and as for Davy Jones coming back, I'm sorry but there's no way on earth or in heaven above that that'll happen, I mean WILL STABBED JONES'S HEART AND THEREFORE, THEREFORE HE KILLED JONES FOR GOOD!FOR GOOD, I TELL YA!!!! and then Will got stuck with the captainship of the dutchman himself!!! Okay rant over, I'm just so mad the writers did that!!! I mean I UNDERSTAND it was the ONLY WAY TO SAVE WILL'S LIFE, BUT IT IS NOT FAIR TO HIM AND LIZZIE!!! ok NOW my rant's over!! (about two and a half hours go by) anways, to continue, If will and Lizzie weren't in any more of the POTC films, wo'd save Jack from himself/the problems he gets into?? Barbossa? I don't think so! Mr. Gibbs? possibly, but kind of unlikely!!! Calypso/Tima Dalma? I don't know at all!! |

For the most part I agree with you, I think Will and Elizabeth balance out the entire movie, there is such a thing as too much you know. If they did bring Will and Elizabeth back but with different actors (including Elizabeth), I think that's a horrible idea. Actually to get different actors for any of the characters would be a disaster. I do think that its for the best if Jones stayed, but ya know its not like they haven't brought back any other characters.

Ya know what, to me sounds like a good idea anyway and I'll probably end being bashed for it XD But if they did a couple of prequel films. Kind of ala the 2 lots of Star Wars trilogies but obviously a helluva lot better than their prequels. Exploring the early days on the Black Pearl and when Jack came across Barbossa and Davy Jones originally. That would also be a rational explanation for leaving Will and Elizabeth out ;D But there'd be lots of space to introduce stuff their and Jack's vague in what he says in the 3 films so they could twist that and fit it to however the writers saw fit  |

Ehhh I don't really know what to think of a Pirates 4. =/ I still think the first was the best out of the three, and I think I liked the third the least. Don't get me wrong, I still loved them all, but I just feel like the third dragged on way too long. There were a handful of times I thought it was going to end, but then it started going again. It was quite obvious when the second one finished there was bound to be a third, but I don't see any real reason to continue after the third. Will is now in charge of the Flying Dutchman, and apparently him and Elizabeth had a son. But is it really necessary to let us in on every detail that happens? Can't it just be left to the imagination? If a fourth was to come out, I would most likely see it. But I am not sure how much I would enjoy it. I think they're just milking every last cent they can get out of these movies now. People just fell in love with Jack Sparrow as well as all of the other characters, so they think it just keep going on and on. But I think it's time to just put it to rest. |

But Disney doesn't want to put all the money they're making off this franchise to rest. In the end, the key to a new POTC film would be to take the story in a different direction. You have to come up with a new issue. The first POTC is best because it's self contained. POTC 2 & 3 are really one six hour movie. Any future films need to go in a new direction and come up with a brand new macguffin(a term from Alfred Hitchcock referring to the central reason for the story's existence). I think it would be best if POTC left Will and Elizabeth behind since their story is mostly told now.
And personally I think the greatest key to any future POTC movies is getting Geoffrey Rush to play Barbossa again. Sparrow is fun and all, but Barbossa's the pirate. He's also a tremendous foil to play off Jack. Barbossa is the single biggest reason why POTC 3 is better than POTC 2.
