Finally got around to creating this thread, haha.
Anyone else a fan of Glee? I think it's one of the most amazing show's ever! lol. The diversity of music there is amazing. They have songs that can relate to all types of people. Nip/Tuck was already a big yes on my list, so knowing that Ryan Murphy was working on this show, I just knew it would be great, lol.

I'm probably one of the very few people who hasn't seen this and to be honest I don't think it'll be one I'll be in a rush to watch either.
It just doesn't seem to appeal to me.

I completely agree with Kawe and I was waiting for someone to start this thread haha! It's an absolute gem of a show, and as a fan of musicals in general seeing it in a setting aking to High School Musical, but handled a lot more maturely, I think it's fantastic. We're only on like episode 5 over here but I think it's great and Jane Lynch makes the whole show! haha I am a Gleek.

Everyone keeps talking about how great this show is and I just don't see the appeal. I haven't watched a single episode and don't really plan on watching it unless there is nothing else to watch. I barely watch regular TV anymore as it is.

I enjoy watching it, but I don't think that it's not as great as everyone says it is. How much they stretched out the plot started to get a little ridiculous last season (the baby plots). I really like the design of the show. It's extremely bright but it isn't too modern or sixties either, but enough to broadcast the happy music vibe.

The only episode I have seen is the Madonna one, and I got filled in with what has been happening. The singing is tremendous! But IMO that is the best part of the show. The plot is nearly none existent and from what I can tell and have hear pretty much just reliant on whatever they want to see about that day. I have to say, I love Matt Morrison and would watch it because he is in it, him and again, the singing which is very good.

The last episode of last season was absolutely amazing. I agree that Matt Morrison is amazing, but Lea Michele's Don't Rain on My Parade was awe-striking and inspiring!

Definitely agreeing with you on that Spell. Lea's Don't Rain On My Parade was as good, if not better IMO, as Streisand's original and I think that's one of the amazing things about this show is how talented these performers are, they're actually giving performances that match up to the originals which is an almost unheard of thing.
I think another great thing about Glee is, there's all these terrible things going on in the world as of late, its nice just to completely forget about them and watch some good humoured, all-singing, all-dancing TV for once, that's not too heavy. I think it's come around at a great time.

I just saw the Glee tour and it was terrific..though I think they had some back-up vocals because the performances sounded way too similar to the recordings. Other than that it was great..plus Jon Groff (Jesse) made a guest appearance.
So has anyone got any comments on the Lady Gaga episode from last week?

I've only watched this show a couple of times. While I love Musical Theatre, the premise of this show is not to my liking. The set up of idea just doesn't grasp my attention much. I would probably enjoy it more if it were a true musical as opposed to a bunch of cover songs. It's not something I care to watch.
That being said I own the soundtrack to the first season. I love the audio concept compared to the visual. Lea Michele is by far one of the best vocalists I've heard in her age-bracket! She puts all those wanna-be bubblegum pop tarts to shame. (Miley, Britney, Selena, Rhianna, Taylor, ect) She has near perfect pitch and an exceptional range. She was just as tremendous in the Broadway show "Spring Awakening"! I also think Matthew Morrison is wonderful as a singer. I also loved him in Harispray and The Ligh in the Piazza. I hope they along with much of the rest of the cast return to Broadway someday. I can't get enough of Cast Recordings.

I have to agree that the actual show isn't the best. They haven't found an even foothold for drama yet. The first half of the season almost had too much. Plus, there were so many subplots that they would appear and disappear randomly. They took a ridiculous time to come to a conclusion. The second half to the show was lacking a drive. It wasn't the drama that was a problem, but the show seem to go from serial to procedural. It was a very different feel. The one other thing is the plots a bit ridiculous. Are they any more ridiculous than the other TV shows out there now? No, but perhaps because it doesn't have a very clear genre (in a lot of ways it verges on primetime soap operas, but it has such a bright, musical spin) that makes the the combination even more absurd to me.

I'm a proud Canadian Gleek My whole vocal class at school loves this show. The singing is out of this world! The music is so much fun I'm just sad that I have to wait all summer for season 2!! What did you all think of the finale, if you've seen it?
