If you get an opportunity make sure to watch the Mad Hatter host a rousing rendition of musical chairs over at Disneyland's Coke Corner. However, be aware of a couple of things. When the Mad Hatter starts looking for volunteers to play, if he invites you to come up and play, you're going to play. Be prepared for him to make fun of you in a mad kind of way. And realize that just because you think you've advanced to the next round doesn't mean that you have.

That sounds interesting, BRP. What do you mean by "play"? Like silly games he wants to to play?

If the Mad Hatter wants you to participate in the game of musical chairs he's hosting, you will participate. And along the way, he may come up with silly ways to play musical chairs.

It was something else. When I played musical chairs, he volunteered me from the audience. During the first round he decided not to take any of the chairs away. Then after each round, he asked the unwinner a riddle. The answer to each riddle would come up again in a future riddle. During another round he had the remaining contestants hop around the chairs like the white rabbit. Just when I thought I had made it to the final round, he eliminated me on account of chivalry. Then during the final round, he continued to add chairs to the mix until he decided that both contestants won.
My only regret is that I don't have this entire experience on video.

Another quick update on meeting a character and how clothing choice can influence your interaction. I returned last night from a weekend trip to Disneyland. As always, it was fun, but a memorable character moment happened because of the t-shirt I was wearing. I have a t-shirt sold at Disneyland with this image on it as a postcard with the caption "This will be a day long remembered," which is also an actual Darth Vader line from Star Wars. When I met Ariel, she asked to see what my shirt said. Upon looking at my shirt, she commented "I had no idea he went on the carousel. He doesn't strike me as the type to on rides. I guess you learn something new every day." We then proceeded to chat about Darth Vader going on rides at Disneyland. It was almost surreal talking about Darth Vader going on rides with Ariel.
