That concept doesn't apply to me either. ^^ I know I saw The Little Mermaid well before Sleeping Beauty. And even before I began studying vocal technique, I remember I was always more attracted if not hypnotized by an operatic or classically trained voice as opposed to the pop tone. So naturally Aurora would be my choice.
As for Esmerleda not being listed individually. I created this post with the Official Princess line-up in mind. But for those who preferred the lesser knowns, I included the "Other" option.
This is slightly off-topic but an interesting fact anyway. Demi Moore who does the voice of Esmerelda in the film does not do her own singing. (She can't sing) Disney sent out the message for auditions with a note saying "The singer must be able to perform with a lyrical tone and still have the husky touch." They ended up finding a near perfect match with a singer named Heidi Mollenhauer. I do also agree that she has a lovely if not unique voice.

I knew this fact, it's in the extra features on my HOND DVD(although I did forget her name). It very much impresses me how Heidi Mollenhauer sounds pretty much exactly like it could be Demi Moore singing.
My apologies for continuing the off topic streak, but another interesting and humorous fact; the same went for John Cusak who voiced Demitri in the WB film Anastasia. Although Demitri's singing parts are more between talking and singing as opposed to a strong singing role as Esmeralda was, Cusak refused to do it actually saying something along the lines of "If anyone heard me sing they'd jump a cab out of there"(once again a feature in the DVD extras, his singing double is not introduced though).
Back to the topic at hand please.

While perhaps too late for this poll, I'd like to comment on Mandy Moore's performance as Rapunzel. A friend of mine described Moore's performance as that of a generic female voice that worked perfectly for this film. I like that description. While she doesn't have a knock your socks off moment per se (think Ariel in Part of Your World), I think she did a great job of bringing an everyday quality to her performance.

I hate to say it but it's not the end of the discussion Kimmy. I like Paige O'Hara but I love Jodi Benson and Mary Coasta!

Aurora has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. They picked a wonderful person do provide her voice for the movie.

Ok, well, I would have to go with Belle. She's got a really nice voice. And I know this might be a matter of opinon, but I LOVE Elsa's singing voice. Idina Menzel can really belt it out!
