Which Disney Princess do you think has the most enchanting voice of all? At first I thought about only doing it between Ariel and Aurora because those characers are renowned for their stunning vocals. But then I decided there could be other opinions so I decided to make it a general catagory. Besides they're not the only ones with appealing voices. ;D So who's voice captivates you?

I had to vote for Ariel. Both Part of Your World and the Reprise gives me chills. While all these characters have beautiful voices I've noticed no one has been able to take on Part of Your World and make it their own. The other girls have had their songs re-song, rearrange very successfully and with the new version I found they were still able to capture the esscene of the character and song. Not so with Part of Your World. People have tried and in my opinion failed with all but maybe one exception. Jodi Benson's voice just seems to have an unmatched spark to it. It isn't too over powering and it isn't too soft. As Ariel she is able to so perfectly rely the Mermaid Princess's feelings to the audience that most other attempts seem empty. So, yeah, Ariel all the way.

I voted other, thinking of Mulan, but then I realized that Lea Salonga was Jasmine's singing voice as well. I fell in love with her voice when she played Eponine from Les Mis, and so she's just a favorite of mine now. I think she a great job with both roles. As for the other singers, I think they'll all amazing, and if Salonga wasn't a favorite of mine, I'm not sure if I could really pick one.

I am torn between Ariel, Aurora and Jasmine. All of them have beautiful voices.

Do you guys think I should have stated the actresses names instead of the characters'. To be honest it just didn't cross my mind until now.
I definetley admire all these women vocally and I think they all provided their own flair that suits the character wonderfully. As a person who wishes she could sing decently let alone beautifully I absolutley adore and envy these women's musical ability. That being said I must say Mary Costa as Aurora is especially outstanding! Her haunting Dramatic Coultura pipes are in a class all their own. Whenever I hear her vocalizing in the forest I get chills. I'm just like Phillip in asking myself, who could possibly posess a voice like that and still be human?! No doubt Aurora's Gift of song was well placed in Mary's stunning voice. She's so fortunate to be gifted herself with such a raw talent.
I stilll have to give individual acknowledgement to Lea Salonga as Jasmine/Mulan for her passionate mezzo-soprano performances as two women who are searching for identity and respect. Judy Kahn for being such a force as a belting soprano in Pocahantas's doubts and assurence in life. And finally to Jodi Benson who provided such a lovely mixed tone to a character whose aspirations are so universal in many generations. I wish I could sing even a small fraction of their ability. Yeah I'm defnietley jealous! (hehe)

Hm...I'm torn between Ariel and Mulan/Jasmine.
Mulan was my first thought. Reflection is such a beautiful emotional song. Although Jasmine doesn't do as much singing (and her singing voice changes in the sequels, doesn't it?) her part in A Whole New world was just beautiful.
But then there's Ariel, who doesn't just have a beautiful voice, her beautiful voice is an important plot point. While Part of Your World and it's reprise are really beautiful, the part that really impresses me is part where she gives her voice to Ursula. She sings, no words, just sound, and it's beautiful and chilling.
How many times did I use the word beautiful? I need to get a thesuarus. >_>;;

I'm going to have to go with Ariel. When Jodi sings as/for Ariel when she sings her voice is just full of emotion, and can also get you to feel just what the character Ariel is feeling. It's also very stunning and when heard you automatically know the voice.
When just singing notes so Ursula can take her voice it's still absolutely amazing, and perhaps a little hypnotic.
I also have to agree with what Crazy Alice said.
It's very true.
Jodi Benson just has this lovely singing voice that can't be matched. Even as Thumbelina (speaking & singing voice) her voice was so sweet and beautiful. Strangely enough in that movie her voice was part of the story too.
Not too strong, not too quiet, it's perfect.
Simple, emotional, sweet, beautiful, fun, lovely, haunting... Those are just a few words that come to mind for Ariel's voice.

While I agree that Jodi Benson has a beautiful voice, I just can't get over Mary Costa's voice echoing throughout the forest. That entire sequence is one of my favorites in all of animation.

oh that is really hard! i can't vote right now. Since the only one I can rule out with certainty is Snow Whites. Maybe it was beautiful at the time, but to me it is too high and shrieky. All the others have stunning voices that I love to listen to.

I'm quite partial to Ariel myself... some of you know why. But her voice is really quite beautiful and I loved listening to her voice. In fact, I went as far as to rewind the parts where she sang and watched them over and over.

Maybe because I've studied vocal technique and such for years. I have a very different definition of vocal beauty. I do think Jodi has lovely voice. That can't be denied. (As do all of these singers) However in the grand scheme of talented vocalists, I wouldn't clalssify her nearly as the greatest. I think it showcases how much taste in music had changed through out the last 30 years or so. People have really taken a liking to Easy-Listening/Pop sopranos. That's probably why Jodi is the most popular choice. That being said, if Hans Christian Andersen were alive today. I find it difficult to believe he would have picked her for his choice for the singer/actress who would have portrayed her. I believe the most plausible choice he would made would have been a classically trained opera soprano. A type of singer I thinks fits the bill much more seamlessly when it comes to being described as "The most intoxicating and seraphic sound in the world!"

I'm curious to see if there's a correlation between which film the respondent saw first and which voice they like the best.

I love Belle she is my favorite princess, and Paige O'Hera has a beautiful voice, but Ariel/Jodie Benson wins the voice contest. She sings very powerfully and soulfully I have always wished I could have a voice like hers.

I'm curious to see if there's a correlation between which film the respondent saw first and which voice they like the best. I don't think there is with me. I saw TLM first, but chose Aurora. I don't know if I'd pick her as my favorite voice, but if we are evaluating the most beautiful, it has to be Aurora.

I don't believe this is a factor with me either, as I actually do not remember in what order I saw all these films. Snow White might have technically been first I remember seeing it in the theater but I was very little and was not able to sit through the whole thing. Plus I have never liked it much as well as any other film listed here other than the two I mentioned in my first post. Those are my two favorites and between them I do not know the order in which I saw them either. Actually if I may add, it's unlisted but despite that she only sings once in her film I also love Esmeralda's voice.
