Anyone else around here use Twitter? I never thought I'd find something more addicting than Facebook from a social networking standpoint, but it appears that I have. I think the awesome thing about Twitter is how a lot of more famous people use it... while it may not be incredibly important to know what Jim Carrey had for lunch today, it's still slightly fun. This is so totally mine: www.twitter.com/YFWE ... follow me if you have one! =D And for those who don't have one, you should try it! =)

Personally, I was never able to become interested in these sort of websites. I could care less about Myspace, Facebook and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad others enjoy these sites. (Such as you're self) But I'd rather be on a forum like this. I feel like the interaction is more genuine and has more involvment with a variety of people.

Don't use it and have no intention to use it, because I always forget about such sites, so it would be a bit useless for me to make an account xD But I can imagine it can be cool to hang around on such a site

Same here. I don't like Twitter. It's kind of a step down from facebook. All it is is a constant facebook status line.

What I think I mainly use Twitter for at this point is to follow different points of interest for me. For interest, I'm a theme park fanatic, and I've been able to follow the progress of construction of the world's tallest water ride this week, or I can follow my favorite band's new developments on their latest CD. Most of all, I can follow such news agencies as CNN and get breaking news delivered to me hot of the press... would be more convenient if I owned a phone with Twitter capabilities; I'd be able to get alerts while I was away from the computer, which is often.
I understand it isn't for everyone. Though in my opinion, I think it's pretty much the future of social networking as we know it, in an age where civilian journalism and online culture is becoming more and more prevalent in our everyday lives. Since I'm studying to be a journalist and/or public relations person, I see it as quite an effective tool to reach a broad audience, with almost no real difficulty in doing so. That's why I'm a big fan of Twitter.

I use Twitter, and I agree yfwe it's a good route to be able to follow the official sources of points of interest for me.
For example, Jon Favreau "tweets" and I found out it was Mickey Rourke's first day on the set of Iron Man 2 today. I also found out Ashton Kutcher's opinion on Tom Selleck (they recently met for the first time)
I think Twitter is actually by far the most intellectual and easiest of social networking thus far, with a healthy mix of facebook and livejournal thrown together in the pot, allowing Users to get across their points in short,s nappy ways but also in a quite fun way too.

I wasn't sure about Twitter at first because I thought it would be way too much lke facebook and we don't need more than one of those because they are crazy enough as it. When I actually started using Twitter I agree with yfwe and skeleton girl. It is quite useful in ways facebook is not.

Gonna bump this well up. Just wondered if anyone had given into Twitter and gotten an account? twitter.com/Elwood91I still stick by what I originally said, and especially since its so available on the move with mobile phones, iPhones, etc, I really think Twitter is an impressive communicator.

Shamefully, I'm a member (as Elliott, you seem to have already discovered! haha!) I think it's a better version of facebook: none of those "so and so has joined this group that no one else cares about" or pictures or apps etc. It's just the status', which is one of the only decent points of FB! haha I think it's cool to know what celebrities are doing, it makes them seem more human! Also, it makes news and politics a bit more accessible (I for one follow both Obama and Al Gore, haha) It also doesn't demand you to say where you live (thats optional) and you don't have to fill out a huge profile so I don't think it gives away as much personal info as Facebook does.

I go through spells when I don't mind Twitter and other times it annoys me. I like being able to follow my favourite singer (who has an official Twitter) and I like the fact that you're not constantly getting invites to add such-and-such an application or anything like that but sometimes I'd like to say a bit more than what can be said in 140 characters. Anyway if anyone's interested: twitter.com/skybird14

I like Twitter. I mostly use it for my comics (which reminds me...) and what video games I'm playing. I have a lot of random thoughts, so Twitter is a fun way to express myself. I'm Miss_Butters there, if anyone wants to follow me.

I update most of my status lines for facebook through twitter because I can text it right to twitter (which I can't do on my phone with facebook); however I tend to use facebook more often, generally speaking.

I made an account several months ago and only used it for 4 days max. Now it's already in disuse since the end of september or so? . The first week I checked the status of Matthew Reilly, but I decided it was nicer to look for news at his own website, and like Heather, I (tend to) use facebook way more often.
