But, some of the movies in Holly Wood are just outrageous ... and I would most definately wouldn't check Wikipedia or Imdb for information, it's not very reliable. But, this is Disney, and I was a bit suprised to find that they made scream under Dinsey.
Everyone thinks of the company as childish ... but now look at it. Anyway, my friends and I are going to go see it on the day it opens ... or the weekend it comes(It comes out on May 16th, Friday.) But I really can't wait, but I really don't mind the violence ... there wasn't too much in the first. I loved the first one, with or without the over dramatized battle(which was a great scene, besides the killing, haha. But I mean, it's a great way to show off the special effects!)

IMDB is actually pretty accurate in the main pages. The subpages aren't always.
It isn't the Studios that rate movies, it is the Motion Picture Association of America.
I will be shocked if this movie gets lower than a PG-13. This book is much more violent than "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and TLTWATW wasn't an "unviolent" book, Lewis just paints a picture and leaves the rest to your imagination, unless it is important to the story line, like how Peter became "Peter Wolfbane"
The closer this movie gets the more I want to see it!!

The thing we need to remember though is that while the parent company has released films like Scream through other distributors it used to own, there are only certain kinds of films that will be released under the Walt Disney Studios banner, and this is one of them. For that reason, I still see Disney aiming for more of a PG rating. I think they're marketing this as one of their family friendly films, especially in a summer filled with Batman: The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones IV.

Still no official rating yet so I'm going to go with Briar Rose's Prince's theory on how the filmmakers are still editing and the Motion Picture Association is carefully considering the best option at hand. But if what Lorelei has said about the book is true then I'm beginning to wonder if "PG-13" may really be the best choice. Especially if the studio wants to remain true to the original material. This seems like a sticky situation. On the up-side I hear rave reviews are already coming out from those who saw international Sneak Peeks. Hopefully those reviews will remain promising.

I think that the best idea is to make it PG. I think Lewis' idea was to have every person enjoy this story.

Well, I'm getting kind of bored discussing age limits and the rating(no offence) ... sooo I'm going to start a new rave about this movie: Do you think merchandising will be many?

I was kinda getting bored, too. As far as merchandise, I have seen a lot of books in the bookstores.

Yeah, same with the books, I've seen those and there was a commercial for a video game, but I don't really like Disney video games. Although, my friend had TLTWATW and it was pretty entertaining. But I know they will probably have toys and Disney Land characters a little after the movie comes out.

I know the White Witch made meet and greet appearances in the villains lair behind Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland and near the Wardrobe exhibit in the MGM Studios. That's the only character I know that made appearances. Otherwise, we'll see the usual action figures and what not, plus Master Replicas may well make some sword replicas. I've seen the sword they did for Peter from Wardrobe.

Only a few weeks now until the film will finally be released. I can hardly contain my enthusiamim! It looks just as epic and wonderous as the first film was. And this may seem like an odd obeservation but it seems this is the film that will create the "Summer Blockbuster" pattern. Meaning once this film has arrived, it's time to get ready for the summer's other anticipated films. And coming out in May, might leave it to an advantage to perform even better commercially. (Pirates took the same technique last year) Here's hoping anyway.

As long as the film is good, it should do just fine. Disney released the first two POTC films in mid-summer and they did just fine. As much as any company strategizes about when to release a film, if it's anticipated(and this one is) it should do just fine if it's a good movie.

I still have only 2 chapters to read from the book and I'm done. I can't wait for the movie to be released. It comes out after my finals! w00t!
I hope to make it opening day or catch it if they have a midnight showing. @.@

I was watching a preview last night and I thought I saw Jadis, the White witch, in the trailer for the new movie. Has anyone else noticed that? Bear in mind that it was really late at night and i was really tired, but I am pretty sure I saw her.

She's in there. I don't remember if she's "supposed" to be in there, or if they brought her back because it's Hollywood.
