I don't think I really want to see this anymore :/ Jim Cummings as Triton? Why no Kenneth Mars?! JC sounds nothing like him. That's rather depressing Although Sally Field does sound good as Marina Del Ray.

According to the official website, the release date is indeed August 26. There is a trailer and a sneak peek. MAY INCLUDE SPOILERS: disney.go.com/disneyvideos/animatedfilms/littlemermaid3/Besides the plot (that sounds completely dull, but I haven't got an opinion until I see it), I hate the design of Ariel's mother. Seriously, I have never been so disappointed in a character's design. you guys are DISNEY, couldn't you come up with a NEW design instead of making a copy of Ariel? I had the same feeling with Melody, but I hoped they wouldn't make the same mistake twice. Ugh...apperantly, they just did. Ok this preview totally added to the eww factor in my view. First of all the beginning scene with the mother sitting next to a red bearded Triton, I thought it was Ariel at first, SHE'S A FREAKING CLONE! That makes me so mad, I thought she would be a different looking very pretty queen. I have to disagree about Melody comment here though, I was really glad they gave her Eric's black hair and eyes. Here Ariel's mother is a damn clone of her, She makes Ariel look like a Kyle XY, Kyle XY is an experiment that looks EXACTLY like his creator as a teenager. If you haven't seen that show you need to Google pictures. That is seriously what Ariel's mom looks like! And it makes me sick in this case. Not to mention I didn't see much difference between young and older Triton besides the younger's beard being red. I would have though younger Triton would not have so much of a beard and that he would be like a tall dark and handsome figure. Secondly, music being forbidden, what the heck is that!? Until that is explained that's really stupid in my opinion. Thirdly, the villianess is clearly a copycat design from Ursula. Just give her octopus legs and take purple makeup looking colors from her face and hair and you have basically got Ursula! What the freaking heck, come on Disney I get that you are known for bad sequels anyway, but I have never seen you people get so lazy with character designs in my life. New characters need NEW looks not copycat and clone looks! For a while I was balanced in the middle of the see saw between giving this film a chance or not but now I have very much slid down towards the NO side after seeing this. Thank you for sharing that Vicky.

I'm guessing the music box has some significance. It seems to feature Triton and Ariel his wife, so maybe it reminds him of her and brings back sad memories? Triton may consider himself to be a reasonable merman, but he's anything but. I could see him banning music because he disliked it

Watching this preview reminds me of why Lasseter has seriously curtailed the sequel department. Too bad he didn't put an end to this one as well.

Gahh who am I kidding, it's gunna be terrible lol I don't think Disney Classics should never be touched to be made a sequel. It's terrible! They copy everything about the first and just add a few new characters, except it's total poop! haha But really, Disney has turned into a money eating corporation, I wish we had Walt back. Waah. Imagine it now: SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS 2: SEVEN CHILDREN, SEVEN DWARFS The sequel to the spell binding movie that started it all ... Have you ever imagined what would happen if Snow White and the Prince had seven children? Well they did. So please ... buy this movie for your children for Christmas so we can have the money to make more dumb sequels ... Anyway, The Queen's Sister(voiced by Will Smith) has threatened Snow White and her Prince for killing her Sister who she really hates so she has no reason to hate them or anything but she just does because she's a power player ...
Anyway with the beautiful voice talent's of: Snow White- Lindsay Lohan The Prince- Usher The Children- Hilary Duff The Queen's Sister- Will Smith
.... You see where this is going?

I know this is really sad. I watched this and it got on my nerves. They just make sequels as many have said, just to make money. These sequels are pretty....bad. I can honestly say that I can count only on one hand of what sequels I liked.
I have heard from my Disney site that Walt never wanted sequels to his movies. The only reason they get money from the sequels is because it is the characters they love.
So all in all, this movie I don't think is going to get good reviews from any Disney lover, other than the little girl princess lovers who we cannot really judge.

You are right Nobody's perfect. I heard that Walt actually HATED sequels with a passion. So his company is disgracing his good name to go behind his back and soil his soul with all of these bad sequels. I too can count my liked sequels on one hand. Thats how bad it is.

Oh well I was talking about 3, I thought Butters may have meant the photo at the end where it shows her and the baker. I haven't seen 2 so yeah...
