This is complicated so bear with me. I have a friend who owns a Disneyana store near me. She knows quite a few people who work for various wings of the Disney company, including Frank Nissen, the director of The Heffalump Movie and Cinderella III. After John Lasseter watched part of The Tinkerbell Movie, he declared it unwatchable. Disney brough Nissen on in an effort to save the project, but Nissen has taken a look at the film and declared it hopeless. From what my friend told me, the Tinkerbell Movie is now cancelled. Oh I hope you are right it looks like complete Rubbish to me, and I agree with Fisher it looks like oe of those cheesy barbie doll movies not just the animation though the story as well, its like a Barbie and Fern Gully Mix. (I like Fern Gully though but only the first one)

There's only one thing going against the rumor that its cancelled. . . they've been upping the advertisement for the movie, especially on Disney Channel. You know the Disney Channel logo thing they do with Disney stars? They're doing that with characters from the Tink movie and they're shown fairly often. So my guess is that the movie is still coming out.
I must agree on the 2D though fisher

they also still have the fairy world up on the website. If the movie animation looked like the website images i wouldn't have any problem with this movie.

If true, I don't know how recently they decided to cancel this film. They could still utilize these other characters they've created in future projects. I suppose that in time we'll know the fate of this project.

Yeah just because there have been commercials and desplays of the chractors does not mean they can't scratch the project, we just won't hear from it again.

Bad sequels haven't ruined other characters, so if this still happens and it's bad, Tink will still be fine. We already know that John Lasseter thought this was unwatchable. If the new director says it's beyond salvaging, I don't think Lasseter would hesitate to pull the plug. He's already scuttled the sequels because he felt they weakened the Disney name.

Yeah that sounds like its right because you said that John Lassator put a stop to the sequals anyway so I can see him seeing this as filth like most of the rest. And I believe this film really does look like filth. Like I said its a Barbie/Fern Gully mix in my opinion even in the animation. And I think the storyline(from what I gathered from the one trailer I saw) completely goes against what we know and love Tink as. The whole thing kind of turns her into a barbie doll with wings. She was not meant to be 3-D or have a voice so I personally believe that ruins her. And although I am not her biggest fan she is possibly Disney's most famous charactor next to Mickey and I don't want to see what we have known her as for many years to be completely killed in this filth. I don't mean to thrash the hopes of those whom this film excites, I am not at all against that opinion just because I don't share it, but personally I hope that Briar Rose's Prince is correct. I don't want to see what we know and love about Tink to die. If this film however does come out than I will be glad for the happiness of those who wanted it too, I just won't be seeing it myself.

I'm afraid that they're gonna change Tink's personality. she looks in the trailer more sweet and innocent and all "ow, I have to save the world", while many people like her because in Peter Pan she has a mind of her own. (she tries to get rid of Wendy for crying out loud !) now she's gonna save that giant tree? that's not Tink. CGI isn't my favourite kind of animation either I still wanna see it though... but I don't think it's going to be very special.

I'm disappointed in her having a voice but they wouldn't be able to do the movie if it was all fairie bells and subtitles the audience they're drawing probably doesn't know how to read.
I know Tink's image is a flit of jealously and rage. . .and spoiled but saving the giant tree isn't just about her feelings its about her existence so really it makes sense but I think they have turned her into a more goody two shoes than a girl with a temper in the series (the book series) and I think that that will be mirrored in the movie, if there is one.

If theyve made a Disney about Tink but it doesnt portrait Tink at all then why didnt they just change the hair style a bit and give her a different name then it would make more sense. Because it wasnt tink it would have a different character anyway.

The thing about Tinker Bell is that I think some of her personality change occured when Walt Disney was still alive. With the TV series Disneyland opening with a shot of Tinker Bell flying over Sleeping Beauty Castle, she quickly became more synonomous with Disney magic and wonder, instead of her spunky personality. Like Mickey, she has become a corporate symbol, and because of that Disney tends to stay away from her jealous side.
